Final Reflection

1- What i learned by doing my research paper was the amount of sources you can find for a specific topic. But the key idea was to narrow down what you really want to know and whatever you want to find is available on the research speed dial page that the professor provided us. My understanding of college level research was that the info that you needed to provide had to be off certain databases. Google wasn't an option since we're trying to stay away from that and use better databases that have scholarly articles.

2- The advice that I will tell other students in the future to write a complete paper is to ask questions about how to find sources!!. Also stay on track with all drafts if you wait last minute to decide to write your final paper then you will have trouble because of the amount of questions you have.

3- What i would've done differently overall in this class is stay on track with all my assignments. I guess it was the fact that it was a hybrid course and it was hard to stay on track with some assignments, The only assignments that really mattered were the essays because this course was based on 1 essay so i tried my best to do all the work that was required for it.

Close readings of film stills I,Robot

Well I chose the film stills Of I,Robot, the one where he is in a interrogation room with the robot. In this still Will smith looks like hes strong, he seems as if hes trying to portray this masculine guy making him not look weak in front of the robot. The last thing he needs is letting the robot know hes weak. Also the robot shows no fear to him, he seems calm as if he knows what Will smith is capable of doing. The other still i chose was the one where Will and sunny are shaking hands. Making it look as if they were ending the war that they were having. But in the picture will still looks worried as if he knows this hand shake only means so much. The thing about this Still is that will looks at sunny all beaten and sweaty while sunny the robot which he is a robot he looks perfectly fine. This shows that humans do looks weak but sunny isnt doing much about it but shaking his hand coming to a peace. Maybe he has a plan to something but for now they just leave things settled. The thing about looking at these stills compared to looking at the movie scene while just watching it is that you dont get a sense of what is actually happening in the film. like yeah they might be in a interrogation room but the closer you look the better details you see as in the emotions etc. same as in the hand shake in the film its peace but if you study in the still you can just imagine many things what it can mean just by the body language and the facial expression.

Research Topic Idea

So far I've been interested in Research Topic #2 which is about Portraying human minds in films. Reason as to why i'm so interested is because all the movies listed has something to do with a disease. for Instance The notebook the woman in the film is diagnosed with Dementia which is a disease that decreases the ability to think or remember, and with other films it has to do with autism, paranoid schizophrenia. I'm interested in this topic because I have taken Psychology already and I'm pretty familiar with all the terms, even though I have to get back on track with what each disease means, I'm pretty comfortable in choosing this topic because of the past experience I've had with psych. Also I feel pretty comfortable because I still have my notes on some of these diseases and I would also like to learn way more into depth about some of these diseases and why/how they occur.
